I think it's the gameplay that counts, not the powwaaaaaaahhh. And I personally have more fun on my gameboy advance than the xbox games I've played. I do want to play that volleyball one with the hot girls though, so I can see the breast simulator at work.

You'll never take away my Vice City. It's the only reason I bought a PS2. I'm Mr. Microsoft, but like Dek said, it's the gameplay that counts. I've yet to see a real reason to get an Xbox. Until they release a GTA-like game for ONLY the Xbox, then I'll have to consider it. Besides, the Xbox isn't that much bigger. Maybe like 2 inches deeper and an inch wider. Besides, what does size matter, it's a freakin' console. It's not meant to be carried around anyways. |

xbox has xbox live...ummmm...halo...mech assault...shenmue II, a hard drive, ability to rip yer own music for in game, and yeah...gta 3 was s'posed to be xbox only...then sony bitched etc and paid a substantial fee and it was ps2 only. it was on gamespot.com a helluva long time ago. Although games similar to vice city will be coming to xbox(midtown madness 3, driver 3, true crime: streets of LA). and yeah i forgot to mention the gameplay - a lot of xbox games are relatively deep in gameplay(halo was excellent). but then there's others like wwe raw, etc that don't even deserve to have been released. Half Life 2 is coming to Xbox - wooooooooo. |

The Xbox definitely has the best technology of the current systems. With Xbox live being by far the best online service, the hard drive, etc. Still though, I just can't get into the games. Everyone on earth by now knows that Halo is good, but that was a launch title, and that's still the first and sometimes only title that people say you should get an Xbox for. Sure that says a lot about Halo, but it doesn't say much about the rest of the Xbox line-up. It really just depends on the kind of games you like. I think all of the Xbox games are very similar to PC games, and if I had the choice between the two, I would definitely just play the game on my PC rather than the Xbox. I like all of the experimental games on the PS2 and GameCube rather than the tried and true shooters and sports games that seem to dominate the Xbox's line-up. Every time I see a new Xbox game announced, I can't help but think "Hm, I think I've played a game exactly like that about 15 times before... Can't they try something different?". But oh well. If you like the games that the Xbox has to offer, it's definitely a powerful and technologically advanced console. |

I've owned a PS2 since day one...and became bored of it - and haven't had an Xbox all that long - and there's a difference between the PS2 lineups and Xbox lineups - so i've really just started getting into some xbox games. Yes I also still play PS2 games - Vice City etc...but the Grand Theft Auto games in my opinion would be better if they were realistic instead of being cartoony. The Getaway failed on some aspects but excelled in other aspects. A GTA game with the getaway style graphics(and a frame-rate fix) would rule! PS2 developers have just started using the full power of the machine - it's the games released lately that people think of when PS2 is mentioned - Xbox is younger than PS2...so the lineup may become more beckoning as developers become more experienced with it. But yeah - my opinion. |
