Seems everyone is getting one, so I went and got me a Wacom today. Went and scored the Graphire 2. Perfect for me to learn on and develop a few more skills. But the stupid Future Shop nearby didn't have it in stock (last three things I went to buy there they didnt have...grrr) so I had to drive to the next town to get it. Hardcore... Heres my first half hour breakdown. First 10 minutes: This thing sucks. I cant use it, I suck, Im taking it back. 11th minute: Oh, I can configure it to the programs. 15th minute: Hey, it works. Slick. 30th minute: I still suck but I can at least control it now. Great buy. /rant (Does the US have Future Shops?) Ok, I have no clue why I keep going back to Future Shop. Every single time every f**king employee is talking to their buddies. One guy was reaserching real estate on one of the computers and wouldn't help me. They have the absolute worst customer service I have ever seen, and yet, I go back each time expecting it to change. The odd time I get someone willing to field questions, usually simple ones like, "Where is this..." No matter the city, they all hang out joking with each other ignoring people standing in front of them obviously trying to ask a question. It must be in there company policy, but it is pathetic. Tonight three people stood around laughing with each other, I was practically the only one in the store, they all looked at me and ignored me. Argh, cant write anymore about it because it pisses me off even further. /end rant |

Future Shop is Canadian only, the Americans have Best Buy, which is roughly the equivalent. Of course Best Buy owns Future Shop and for some reason is opening up a few stores in Canada.

I like BestBuy. They have lots of things to play with. Has anyone else even noticed that when you go into a store to just look around, people keeping ask you if you need help. But when you actually have a question and need help, you can never find a salesman, and they will never come and ask if you need help? That's weird. |

They have future shops in the US. We had a Good Guys, Future Shop, Best Buy, Office Depot, and a Staples all within walking distance. I only went to Good Guys because they still sold Technics 1200's and they would give us killer deals on display models. This is in Wa state though. And yeah I get annoyed when they come at you like a bunch of vultures. I like to get them when I need help. But for computer stuff I still like the mom and pop shops. I dont deal online much, esp when buying important things like motherboards and what not. You can get good deals, but if there is a problem its a real hassle to get it straightened out. I like to walk into a shop and tell them it doesnt work and walk out with a new one. |
