I am hoping to catch DJVadim this month at a small pub if there is room....

One of my all time favorites of all the live groups I have seen was Maceo Parker. He put on one of the best performances I have ever seen of anyone. The band was: his brother on drums(old JB drummer), the other horny horns and some dude on the B3 + a bass player i didnt know. He didnt really take a break and the last set I caught was over 2 hours long!

I am into jazz quite a bit and have caught some amazing jazz acts as well. One I will always remember was the McCoy Tyner trio with Aaron Scott (about as close - stylistically - to Tony Williams) and Avery Sharp on bass.

The bands I wish I could have seen or want to see:

Dead Kennedy's
The Clash
The Original Parliament line up (I keep catching members of the band or old members, but never the whole group =\ )
The Dogg Pound w/ Warren G and Nate Dogg opening up - although I would probably hire a body guard for this one.
John Coltrane - I wish I could go back to the 60's just to see him.
Miles Davis - I missed my only chance to see him in '92 because I wasnt into his electronic work and passed up a ticket - duh!
etc....

Jurassic 5 really rocked! The atmosphere was good... and their interaction with the public was even better.

The show was in a pretty small room... and after the show they just stood in the public and stuff. Signing autographs. Really nice guys.

Now that I think about it, Ozzfest was pretty good.

My friend went the past two years, but forgot the tickets went on sale today until about 9 PM so he got screwed out of going this year, lol.

I guess I should follow up my Audioslave concert post, huh?

The show blew my freakin' mind. Audioslave is, in my opinion, the best rock n' roll released in 10 or 12 years. The main reason I say this, is that the show completely upscaled a kick ass CD. You know what I mean? The CD usually has all these production tweaks and enhancements - voice overs, special effects and whatnot - not Audioslave. Not even. Again, only my opinion, but I feel these are the 3 best rock musicians on the scene today - the rhythm section makes as much explosives as Tom Morello's (2nd Hendrix?) viscious guitar. And Chris Cornell's stage presence gets better with time - I saw Soundgarden in 1991, that too was a hell of a show. He's more emotional now, also, Cornell played a few solo acoustic spots while the band got a breather - even they were suprisingly great.

I guess what I'm trying to say is: GO SEE THEM.
