abit tech support is pretty awful. first off, the number in the manual took forever to get a response, which was just a message saying to call blah blah for differeint purposes. second, the first time i tried to call the DIFFERENT tech support number it had a BUSY signal.!!! third, i'm not being racist or nothing...they are all chinese people with incredibly heavy accents. I mean, if you're going to have verbal tech support, you gotta have people that can speak the language and understand. The guy I spoke with was having trouble keeping up. "i'm sorry sir, could you rephrase your question?" Note: my initial question was: "so would a 3pin fan fix the problem?" crikey ...the accent was so bad it sounded like they were still speaking chinese. BLAH!!!! |

Most tech support sucks. In AOL commercials they say their tech lines are open 24 hours a day...NOPE!! They all close at 1am. So, yeah, don't bother with techies. |

Good heatsinks never come with a fan. You usually just pick one out from what you already have, or just get one that most fits your needs.

yea I called abit before, I can see what your talking about, try linksys support though! here is my story... bought a compact flash wifi card for my pda. Model WCF-12, on the box it said it worked with windows ce 3.0 and up. I got it, used the load cd that came with it, and was able to get it on my network. After that there are some niffty tools it loads on the pda. with this took you can configure encryption, ssid and there is a site monitor feature. Clicked on the exe and it screamed primsys blah blah. I was like what the hell. I called them up and they first treated me like an idiot, like maybe I didnt load it right. Then they told me that its not "fully" suppported in Pocket Pc. I then questioned them and asked them isnt pocket pc 2000 win ce 3.0 (it is) and they then said, well.....yeah and whats your email we will send you some beta drivers. I responded and guess what never got an email. I then emailed like every department of thiers and got a responce like this, sorry sir either buy a new pda or get a different card. Screw them, I returned that junk and bought a d-link ;/ |

Hmmm..now that I think about it, I've never had any trouble with tech support lines. I VERY rarely call tech support lines or email support, but when I have, no problems at all. Let's see, I called for my burner because it wouldn't copy Swat 3, and apparently they said Sierra put in some sort of really good copy protection, which was apparently true because it didn't work in my friends burner either. I called for...ummm..heh, that's all I can remember, lol. If I can think of some more I'll share my story. EDIT: OH! I called Comcast @home, before @home went under, a ton of times because my cable at one point was out for a week when everyone else I knew had their internet up. Turned out it was a bad NIC, had them come replace it, beacause I'd be damned if I'm spending $20 on another one when they would give me one and set it up for free. I also called them a few times because my damn cable was slow a few times. Oh, I also complained because they gave my friend a new modem and change his cable line on the telephone poles, and all Comcast users are capped at about a 15k/sec upload and he, SOMEHOW was uploading at 150k/sec and that just got me pissed because I wanted to know how that happened, and why he gets that when I pay the same and he lives only a block from me and gets 150k+ uploading. Well enough complaining, because I was so damn envious, and they eventually found it and cut him off. Yeah, I'm an asshole. :D He didn't care though. |
