Hi All,

I have a new site that has just launched (www.vfxtalk.com) Its dedicated to Digital Compositing & VFX Creation & Learning.

The site is funded by myself, and it is NOT for profit…I have developed this site for educational purposes only!!! I was inspired by 3dbuzz.com, and hope to offer that level of member service one day!!

“VFXTalk.com is a site Dedicated to Digital Compositing & VFX Creation. VFXTalk is striving to become your choice for learning all aspects of Compositing & VFX packages. With up to date industry news, professionally authored tutorials, hugh community forum moderated by more industry pro's, monthly compositing challenges and much more!!! Looking forward to talking to you in our forums”

'What is compositing ?' i hear you ask...well...it's kinda like PS on Horse Steroids :p

Imagine any scene in a feature film for example...it is a composite of many layered elements, that have been colour corrected and integrated (usually with motion) so well, that the scene runs seemlessly!! (that was a VERY basic run down ;) )

This craft is very rewarding!! Exisitng PS users will find digital compositing & VFX creation very challenging & rewarding!

The skills of an experienced PS user naturally progress toward digital matte painting & / or compositing & VFX!!

Bob, has fully endorsed me posting this thread, he is very excited and supportive of my new site, and he also sees the enevitable / natural progression from PS to Compositing!!

Come on over the the site, register, download your favourite DEMO of any software package (if you dont know which one to use...just ask in the forums ;) )...and start your new exciting journey toward creating feature film quality sequences !!!!

Looking forward to talking with you all very soon

Cheers

Paul Moran

excellent stuff! I'm just getting into this kind of stuff using Cinema 4D and alpha channels. I think you should include ICARUS as a motion tracking software, it's kick ass. It sets up a 3D camera in any 3D program for compositing. Good luck with the site, i'll hopefully se you there!

PS, you might want to post something like this at www.postforum.com. That's where leading 3D artsits/TV producers have discussions.

Hey Cybling Boy,

Thanks for your kind words mate

Ill check out ICARUS soon...

As for postforum.com.... i have to be very careful about 'cutting someones grass' :p ...i dont want to jump on there and start using their site to promote mine (not without consent anyways...just like how cool bob is to let me post here!)

But, if you know anyone over there who wouldn't mind me letting people know about the site...that would be great :D

Cheers again, hope to see you over at VFXTalk soon

Paul

You could maybe try and email perry, he made the site. Ask for permission there. Those forums aren't really moderated because they are usually quite busy. Some are dead however. I know the Cinema 4D forum there is booming. People from the creaters of Cinema 4D post there from time to time...also most of the guys there are adults in the industry and like me, would love a site like this. Go try it, they won't delete the post. And if they do, so what? ;)
