I,m wondering what options there are besides using MS frontpage... I believe dreamweaver MX is almost the same... Can you guys tell me if there and any other app other than those above... Also....About PS 7. Is there a prefeerence file that gets made cuz my prog is kind of really screwed it self up or i did. I choose the basic line tool and when i draw something i get either an "ARROW" or a "Circle" image...Im not to sure how to fix that besides a reinstall of the prog. |

As far as html editors go, there are loads of others besides dreamweaver and front page, those two are the most popular though. I use Dreamweaver and it's great. To fix that problem in PS7 go look up the top of the program with the line tool selected, you should see a a rectange, elipse, line etc.. you must have one of the shapes selected, simply click the line again to get it back :D |

ya the line tool is selected but even the circle are rectangle comes out as an arrow shape. I have no idea what so ever as to why it is doing this.

Dreamweaver is absolutely nothing like Frontpage. Frontpage is a terrible, terrible product that generates terrible code that most of the time only work in IE. Not to mention the interface sucks. And it's altogether just an amateur program. Dreamweaver is pretty much the industry standard, and is used by just about everybody that doesn't code their pages in notepad. It's a very powerful program and has a lot more to it than frontpage. |

Beat me to the punch buddy. :D But yeah, Deker is right, Dreamweaver is the industry standard. I don't have the ability to handcode that well, but Dreamweaver does a good job in helping me. I give it 5 stars for its usability. |

Yeah... i do most of my stuff by hand, but sometimes if im feeling really lazy or something ill use dreamweaver... but dreamweaver does have its problems. I found that it messes up the backgrounds of cells in tables and stuff... like it puts in in the tr instead of my td... but overall i think its a good program for a person that doesnt have the time/tallent to code something by hand... oh yeah and frontpage really sucks... :p |

Just click on the TR or TD tag depending on which you want to use. Just below the view of your page, there is a list of tags like: html > body > table > tr > td > p Just click on TR before you assign a background color if you want it to be applied to the whole row, rather than just a cell. Not too hard. And I personally think coding stuff by hand is a waste of time. I use dreamweaver for everything. And sure I know how to go in and tweak something or fix something that dreamweaver doesn't make very easy to do, but there is no point in hand coding everything either. |

I used to use some of those free html editors (just colored text - no wysisyg), but I got into Dreamweaver and once you get a grasp of it I would never go back either. But.... since I used to hand code the html and css, I can fix anything from the editor window, which I find extrememly valuable. These programs do add a lot of code, even the good ones. Sometimes you dont need all that mess of code and you have to go and fix things. But Frontpage sux.... |
