Does anyone use the RealOne player? Real really lost it there for a while. I hated their stuff. But I recently downloaded RealOne to look at a video that was only in Real format, and I was pretty impressed. The quality is quite good... and the interface is nice and clean. I also like how it downloads so much info about the artist whenever you listen to mp3s. It will show you album covers and have a link to let you buy the cd and stuff. It's quite cool. I still use Windows Media Player most of the time though. I really like how when you minimize the 9.0 beta, it shrinks down and integrates itself into the taskbar. It's very nice to get it out the way but still have all the control options.

I stuck with Realplayer Plus 8 and have never upgraded since. It still plays all realplayer video files.

i'm still anti RealPlayer. and to be honest the only piece of rp-format media i've found for awhile was that taliban murder video which i didn't feel was worth dling RP to watch...especially since it's lack of respect to the family. i stick w/ WMP with divx codec 5 and 3. although i need to open divx player, play a movie, open WMP then start a movie inorder for WMP to work alright. otherwise i have to wait about a min for it to get out of freeze, then 30 sec to start again.... :(

RealOne certainly kicks some ass....i have the OSX version, a lot better than RealPlayer, which in my own view, seemed very amateurish and clunky.

I couldn't find a place to download it without having to have a credit card. I just want it for one guitar trick video! I never want to buy the damn thing!

Real's tactics have always been way too Microsoftian for me.

I always had trouble with their software—every freakin' version—and troubleshooting help, beyond the tech docs on their site was practically non-existent. Email queries were answered with regurgitated answers from the tech docs I had already read..5 forking times.

It's QuickTime for me, kids. It's always worked, and worked well...even if it could use a few more features.

EFF RealNetwork.
