Hi Guys, Im new in web design and I got a job, but dont know exactly how to price it.. the website address that I am going to redesign is http://66.197.138.51, can anyone give me a price that something like that would be done for. Please bear in mind that I will be re-designing everything from scratch. Thanks for your help. Ramiche |

I would give you a price, but it is against federal antitrust laws to discuss pricing. But here's a guideline on how to put a price on it - http://webdesign.about.com/library/weekly/aa102300a.htm

This has been discussed many times here before... Try doing a search thru the archives for pricing, or web design pricing or something and you should come up with a lot of good info. Are you doing all the programming for that site? Because it looks like it's running on a database, but a lot of it is broken and kinda random. the site looks like it was pasted together from a bunch of scripts or something. But anyway, I personally, depending on quite a few variables, would probably charge $3,000 to $5,000. But that could change pretty significantly depending on some stuff. But what I charge isn't necessarily what you should charge... I mean you could be a much more experienced designer, and should probably charge more, or you could be less experienced and charge a little less. It depends on how much you think you are worth. You also have to consider the hosting, if you will provide it. The domain name, the marketing, registering with search engines (it's very expensive to get on search engines these days), etc. If you are going be reprogramming all the database stuff on the site, then I would greatly increase the cost of the site. but if you are just redoing the graphics, then I personally would probably charge something in the range above. But that is without talking to the client or anything and know exactly what they want. So anyway... i'm repeating myself now..... ** oh, apparently it's against federal law to discuss pricing. Hope I don't get sent to jail... There aren't any feds here are there? |

Your answers has definitely been a big help to me. Right now as it stands I will only be designing all the graphics and there will probably be a mini database(access) for users to login. Again I thank you all for you help. ramiche |
