i need a new host FAST (long story)! cyberpixels.com seems to offer a lot at a low price. (i found it in the resources section of this very site!)

does anyone use this host? anyone know anything about it?

also, any recommendations would be helpful. PM if you want.

thanks in advance from a busy guy in a tight spot!

SideFX used them for a while, but then he switched because they suck. I think it was support issues or something. I'm sure he will post soon to let you know.

I'm using PixelSeven right now www.pixelseven.com. Their reseller plans are ridiculously cheap, ($18 a month for 1 gig of space, unlimited domains, unlimited pretty much everything else, and 19 gigs of bandwidth). They are pretty good most of the time, but a couple of weeks ago, the hard drive crashed on the server my sites were on, and they had the backups on the same drive as the live files, which is just ridiculously stupid in my opinion... So anyway, I lost all my sites, had to re-setup all the accounts, and reupload all the files. It was a big pain in the ass, but they did refund that month's hosting bill. So anyway... they are pretty good most of the time, fast servers, relatively fast service most of the time. Just make sure you have a backup of all your files.

But if you are looking for 100% up time and maximum reliability, I would go with www.dreamhost.com or www.mediatemple.com They are more expensive, but I've never had a single bit of trouble, and maybe down-time like once, and i've been using dreamweaver for about 3 years.

Yup, for bout 3 months, then things started to go downhill slowly. I was part of support there, so I was regularly updated on the problems. Just recently, one of the exco-owners chose to leave CP because of some reason I can't tell. I left CP also, cause she was the only person there I could rely on.

She just setup a new hosting service and brought me along. So I'm there as a admin now and getting paid. I wasn't at CP, only got free hosting.

Back to CP, I heard that they bought a few new servers to accomodate the huge number of customers there. Some like it, some left cause they don't want to take anymore crap. All I know is there is 2 support guys, and one admin/owner.

Personally, I wouldn't go there, there's better places to go to. Remember, what you pay is what you get. If the prices are alittle to good to be true, they probably are.

If you need reliable services, go for well known hosts like dreamhost.com, site5.com, dot5hosting.com

Anyways, I don't want to self promo, but my place is quite reliable :p Btw, Deker.. Its SideZ :D

I bought webspace for my client from cyberpixels (reccomended by sidez here) and they've been great. They are a lot better than my own hosting server. Nice little control panels etc...they make everyting quite esy and support is great. I have no problem with cyberpixels at all.

Yeah, I think cyberpixels makes a commission off of traffic they get send to pixel seven or something. I have contacted the cyberpixels support for problems with the pixel seven account before, and sometimes they are actually faster to reply than pixel seven. I don't really understand that relationship between them at all...
