Hi I am making a screen saver from a flash movie, but i just wanted to know if anyone had any tips to pass on. Such as, how much movement needs to be on the screen, what colours to avoid, as i was planning on using a white BG but i don't know if that will burn into the screen if left too long. what is the best software to turn flash movies into screensavers and so on... Any help with this would be great :D |

Screensavers, anymore, are mere novelty items, or in some cases, used in conjunction with a password to keep prying eyes out of your hard drive when you walk away. Modern monitors don't generally get phosphor burn-in like in the old days of monochrome monitors. Part of the reason for that is because nowadays, people generate a lot of different activity on their screens, in all different colors, that it just doesn't get much a chance to burn. Plus, monitors are built differently than they used to be, and phosphor burn-in is automatically taken care of during the power-on process. It CAN still happen, but only under extreme circumstances. Now, having explained that...go ahead and make a cool screensaver. Unless you intend to build in some security measures, while it really be of much help, it can't hurt, either. Some one should be along shortly to steer you toward the best software to use for compiling the saver from the files you build. |
