I love CSS, but I am getting tired of how browsers seem to handle it so differently. Case today. I am making this cheasy site for a woman and I build everything based around IE. I open it in mozilla (which the new version is supposed to be 100% css compliant) and the class text formatting isn't working. Arg! Why won't browser developers just pick the D*** format and standardize it. K I feel better. |

Netscape 4.7 was pretty good. Fast. But old. I installed Net6 a while back and first off all the programs that get installed with it were a pain to deal with. I found it easier to un install it and never look back. Mozilla is much nicer than netscape. It runs much faster than netscape 6 (which is pokey as heck.) Opera sucks. period. hehe. sorry for you opera fans. Don't know about it's support, but with all the ads that came with it I bagged even using it. But I wish they'd just get all their script and style support standardized. Sheesh. Oh well. |

I've said it before and I'll say it again... I feel sorry for web designers. Honestly! I do. Microsuck vs. Nutscrape vs. AOHell vs. Apple vs. Opera vs.... ah hell, can't they all just get along?! Long live the inkjet printer!!! |

First of all. Opera does not suck. At the moment, Opera is one of the most w3c complian browsers on the market. Buy the damn thing, get a license...buhbye ads. It is worth it. Secondly, just because one browser is supposedly 100% browser CSS compliant, doesn't mean the site is going to look the same in both browsers. IE has it's own 'ideas' of where CSS should be going. Remember the CSS-Scrollbars? Finally, you need to remember that CSS is hiearcal. That means that if something is defined in CSS but it's contained inside several other page elements such as <.td><./td> then the code may not work. |

4.7 was the worst browser in history. If you think it is good, that's probably why you are having trouble getting your site to look good in all browsers. Probably still using old NS 4.7 hacks that don't work in the new browsers anymore.

If you follow the standards you won't have many problems except for an occasional browser glitch. LIVE WITH IT!

No Im not using netscape at all anymore. But 4.7 is much faster than 6 was. Not saying it;'s the best, but I kind of felt netscape went downhill after 4.7. I use pretty much only external styles. I find it kills the convenience of using it to have to re-type it all the time. Didnt mean to go overkill on the Opera. I have not used the 'bought' version. only the free one available from their site. So if that kills all the ads, then cool. I don't have any spare money to buy things right now. 4.7 wasnt that bad. =\ |
