Hello,

RE: iMac, OSX 10.6.4

I've had a multitude of problems lately, but in short I have a new hard drive and have topped out my memory at 3Gb. However, I still do not understand why when viewing images and documents from Macintosh HD -> Home Folder -> Search this is still happening: the file list will not stay still! The list keeps bouncing around like a ping pong ball, no matter what viewing mode I am in. It is really annoying because I am fighting to scroll down and when I find a file to drill down on, the list jumps and I lose my place. The "jumping" seems to be happening at regular intervals, perhaps every 5-7 seconds.

I know this may sound more like a general OSX issue. However, read on:

I have also noticed that all stock Adobe (Photoshop Elements) images on these file lists are highlighted in green. I never noticed this before. I do know that when I bring up these "jumping" file lists, the first file the list seems to be fixed on is the first Adobe stock image on the list, even though it is never the first file in the list (no matter how the list is sorted). And it stays fixed on that file unless I manually change it.

I am just curious to know if any other Photoshop users on Mac have experienced a similar problem.

Any comments or suggestions are welcome. I Googled this issue using many different combinations of keywords with no useful search results.

Thanks.

Anyway for example i might have 50-60 layers in the bottom half of the image, if i want to select all those ideally id like to just use the marquee and then press select all layers and only select the layers within that selection but i cant seem to do it.

So right now i have to manually click on each of the 60 layers, some are just 1 pixel selections so when i try to select it i often select the background by mistake or another layer without noticing it. Surely this is a common problem with a solution?

Producers of 'The Hurt Locker' have finally begun going after the names of people it alleges illegally download the film.

(Credit: Voltage Pictures)
For people worried that they may be accused of illegally sharing "The Hurt Locker," a movie about defusing bombs, the hope

was that efforts to chase them down would fizzle out.

No such luck. The film's producers are finally moving to acquire the names of people they accuse of sharing this year's "Best

Picture" winner on peer-to-peer sites. Qwest Communications last week notified a customer in Denver that the Internet service

provider has received a subpoena from lawyers representing Voltage Pictures, the production company that made "The Hurt

Locker."

"It is our company policy to notify our customer when we have received a subpoena requesting their records in civil matter,"

Qwest informed the customer, who contacted
wow levelingCNET on

Thursday and asked to remain anonymous. "As required by law, to the extent

we have these records we will furnish the records on or before September 30, 2010."

Voltage Pictures is just one of at least a dozen indie studios that are participating in an antipiracy campaign spearheaded

by the Washington, D.C., law firm of Dunlap, Grubb & Weaver. Unlike the major film studios, smaller production companies

don't have the resources to finance antipiracy operations. DGW offers to do it for them by filing copyright complaints on

their behalf and in exchange takes a cut of whatever fees the suits generate.

DWG representatives were not immediately available.

Landing Voltage Pictures as a customer was a coup for DGW. "The Hurt Locker" has lifted the firm's profile with indie

studios, the media, and the file-
wow power leveling servicesharing community. Some

members of the latter category are shaken by the threat of lawsuits.

The days when entertainment companies filed copyright complaints against individuals were supposed to have ended when the

music industry stopped filing suits in December 2008, or so it appeared.

Court battles loomed once more when DGW began filing copyright suits earlier this year. In "The Hurt Locker" case, the law

firm filed suit against 5,000 "John Does" in May. DGW attorneys said their investigators had obtained Internet Protocol

addresses belonging to the accused,
cheap power leveling but needed to subpoena ISPs to

acquire the names of each Doe defendant. Since then,

dozens of nervous people have e-mailed me asking when DGW might begin notifying people they are being sued. That day has

apparently arrived.

"The Hurt Locker" is far and away the most notable film working with DGW. "The Hurt Locker," a war film about soldiers whose

job it is to disarm bombs in Iraq, was nominated for nine Academy Awards and won six. Not surprisingly, the movie was a

popular download on peer-to-peer sites and now a lot of people could get sued.

I keep running into the same problem in Photoshop CS5.

I create a curved path with the pen tool but when I click on it with the type tool a little circle is created on the path that stops me typing fully along the path - i can only type up to the circle.

I've hi-lighted the circle in this screen grab.

I'd like to type "text on a path" but the circle prevents me typing anymore words once the letters "text" have reached the circle and an x appears in the circle.

I keep getting this problem on any curved paths I make.

I'm probably making a very basic error. Anyone able to suggest a solution?

Sometimes it would be beneficial to be able to save different slice layouts for different layers. I thought, well this is what Layer Comps can do...but...with much disappointment, you cannot save different slice layouts in Layer Comps. Is there a way to do this? Typically I save website pages in different master pages, but for smaller sites, sometimes it is better to have one master file with the pages laid out in layers with different slice layouts. Is this even possible in CS4?

Hello.

I've created a diagonal gradient, and I'm trying to stair-step my text along the gradient.
I started at the top and every time I went to the next line, I just guessed where the left edge would be and spaced over, but I was wondering if there was a way to get the text to left align along a 45 degree angle, rather than a 90 degree up and down angle, while still having the text remain parallel to the bottom and top of the image. I tried rotating the entire layer 45 degrees, but then the text also rotates as well. I'd still like the flat text, but laid out in a sort of stair-step pattern. The way I did it (guess work and spaces) looks all right, but I was wondering if there was a way to do this so the text can all be aligned on the left. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Edit:

THE TEXT WOULD
........LOOK SOMETHING
..................LIKE THIS
.........................WITHOUT THE PERIODS

With the color settings I have on, the colors on my screen don't look quite right... My settings are:
color profile - sheetfed Uncoated v2
color libray - Pantone solid uncoated

Am I even on the right track? Any suggestions on what settings I should be using?
