I changed my background color and killed some of the blur in the interface.

Opinion???

I liked the former a bit better.
Don't center it, dunno about the scanlines they are a bit overkill. And the picture has an other bkgas your site. Mayby you don't see it but i do :)

You can solve it by making a 1x1 picture, take the bkg color of your pic with that dropper tool (forgot the name)
then fill the little picture and put it as bkg image of your site.
