its too flat and lacks detail.
it has no sense of depth.

the wood needs help.
go look at a piece of wood that close. it has a lot of texture and variation. wood can be very interesting with all its knots and imperfections. the wood in your image is very boring and unrealistic.

maybe the eye should be smaller and the hole not centered perfectly?
