It should show you in the export list or save as list what you can export as. What is a .wmf or .emf file for?

I did some searching aronud 'cause I was curious, but I still don't have much of a clue what these files are, I found out that wmf= Windows Meta File and can be opened in Word, so I'm guessing it's some sort of text/image file, or something, Ihave no clue what emf is though. Please enlighten us Rhino1616 :) .

http://www.csn.ul.ie/~caolan/publink/libwmf/libwmf/doc/ this is the first thing I found about Metafiles.

EMF stands for 'Enhanced Meta File' which it looks like is the same thing, but Microsoft renames every generation. So its probably the wmf for win32 api. So 16 bit appliations cant use emf, but win32 supports wmf.

Im working with a program called Swish (its like flash) & it imports certain text & graphics in WMF or EMF, and since I prefer to use PS I was wondering if I could develop certain text & images in PS convert it to WMF & then import it into the Swish program.

Is that the only format you can import in? Seems like it would take and .eps, or a tiff ?

Yup, those are the only vector based formats it accepts

your going to need to export the paths of your vector graphics to illustrator or freehand in order to save as WMF.

I just followed your advice, i had a paragraph of text i wrote in PS7 & exported paths to Illustrator 10 & when i opened the file in AI it was just a blank page. Am I exporting it to Illustrator improperly?

Its easier to just drag and drop, or copy and paste. PS to Illustrator works well that way.

Also, PS can save as an .eps file.
