The one i posted is the final script. You'll need to have a PHP enabled server to be able to use it.

I did everything and it came up properly but one small error showed up ( Notice: Undefined variable: bg_image in C:\Xitami\webpages\dreamnix\splash\splash.php on line 18 )
What is this and what should I do?

It might have something to do with the fact that you're running locally :p. For some reason, its not initializing that $bg_image variable.

about in the begining of this post you could either do index.html to redereect to splash.php with the code like you said or try naming the page with the code index.phtml i herd .phtml is the same as php or you could try .php3 or .php4 i am not sure if any of them would come before index.php but it is worth a try i guess.
