does netscape have problems swallowing css code inserted into the head tag? is it better to link to a single style sheet?

I don't know of any problems with netscape taking code in the head of a document, but I think it is best to always link a page anyway. It really doesn't help that much to put CSS in the head of a page, because it doesn't allow you to change a whole site by changing one document like it is intended to do.
But what is the code you are trying to insert? And what version of netscape is giving you trouble?
