I'm having trouble trying to put content on the main window on my site: http://mcpx.cjb.net I had to slice the image to try to cut down on loading time, but the problem is I don't know how I can put some content over it... Any suggestions/tutorials? |

If i make it a background, the loading time becomes like 5000 times longer, thats the reason why I sliced it up. I posted the pic earlier, and one of the comments was that it took too long to load as a single image.

how about putting it as backgrounds in cells, still having it sliced?..but then again, you´d have to put the content in the smaller cells...not too great either... hmm.... Do you have to have that huge pic there at all?

It takes too long to load because you havent optimized it. Try playing with jpg and gif optimization settings in image ready. Cutting it into smaller peices only means i still have to download the same amount, only now, I have to download 80+kb 5 times instead of one chunk of 400 or so. Seriously. Optimize the image, it will make things easier on you. To answer your question, you need to just put a layer above the table. http://www.mako4css.com/Tutorial.htm |
