Ok.. I had a VB forum up a while back with a server company... and there .sq database was on a seprate server.. So for example: mysql.planetserve.net . So that was the path to the server to get my SQL database.. But when you set it to "Local Host" Can the MySql database be anywhere on your server? Hope that made some sense. DD |

if you tell the web application ( vbulletinboard ) that your sql server is located on localhost, It does not matter where on that server mysql is installed. If your mysql server is somewhere other than where the web application will be residing, you have to give it the internet path to that server. It does not care where on that server mysql is installed. |
