visual basic. net and cgi

right now the only "real" programming language i know is visual basic. net. is it possible to program cgi scripts with it? where are some good resources/tutorials for that kind of thing?

Whether they will run on a non-windows server I doubt, but don't really know. Just search google for cgi, there are tons or articles and stuff written on it.
