php intro help?

does anyone know of any good sites that teaches php by example, and does not just give you the code and tell you what it does?

I strongly suggest you buy a book, as you can't copy+paste text from a printed page.
You can even read it before going to sleep, leaving all those lines of code boiling in your brain while you sleep. :D

and I think a few threads back there were several suggestions on which PhP books our forum readers thought best....

Not trying to get a free add or anything... but sing-up for my site. i'll be launching in another week or so. I'ts al step by step PHP stuff.
