client-side "show code" for html/css

i wanna be able to share some code snipets and was wondering if you can do this with something like javascript. i know you can do it with php but i can't use php on my host (free ISP package)

if you don't know what i'm quite looking for it would display a certain page's code in simple text (although syntax highlighted would be sweet, its not a requirement) so that user would be able to see the code running the page (mainly css layout stuff and such)
