The only one I can think of off hand is the chat that Scream Design uses, which costs a lot of $$.

The only real good one I know of (for free), is an IRC based java applet. If you're familiar with IRC, you'll like it. Even if not, and you know someone who is, they can reach it through an IRC program like mIRC, if they don't want to deal with the applet.

It has ops, ban, kick, and most all the features of IRC. Namserv, Chanserv, Memoserv...

The one thing though, you can't add graphics to it. You can change the colors of it, but thats about it. Just thought I'd mention it, just in case.

I made my own Java based chat... I'd be more than happy to give you the code, and let you go at it....

you can see it running at: http://future.dreamingwell.com

click on 'commmunications'

get a friend in there and test it out.... tell me what you think... it is simple, but it works pretty darn well...

you'll need a web server, and then a server that has one port that is not behind a firewall (can be the same machine as the web server). You will have to know a little Java.

BTW, I first learned how to do this kinda 'network communications' using the tutorials from Sun. http://java.sun.com

its in the tutorials section, under networking... they make a little 'scripted chat client'.
