As the thread says; I finally got a reasonable comp, and want to start playing around w/ web design. As the thread implies, where did you guys first learn?

Trial & error? Sites?

Comments appreciated.

Learn basic HTML first, don't use a WYSIWYG just yet.
Don't do tutorials, and if you do, at least don't copy paste code. :D
Then learn CSS, and after you master making a decent table structure with notepad, buy dreamweaver, or use imageready to do the "dirty"work.
After that learn PHP, make the whole base for a huge company, and become rich.
The last step is to send me 30% of your incomes to me, because I showed you everything you know. Kthxbye. :p

PHP = PHP:Hypertext Preprocessor.

It's what you call a 'recursive acronym'.

And yes, learn HTML first, that's what I did, then get an Editor for tables, because you will be using ALOT of tables if you want be in web design.
