I can't think of an example for this, but I think it's pretty self-explanitory. I was thinking that I'd do my site in a window that is about 750x550 pixels big. How would you do this? Also, what are the advantages and disadvantages of doing this? I was thinking I'd do this because I don't have to worry about the size on different browsers, resolutions, etc. Thanks! :D

You would do that with javascript most likely. The advantages are that you would have a window the size that you want, without worrying about the resolution of the viewer. They disadvantages are that most people hate popups, and resizing their browser windows. Also when people do that, they generally take away the address bar, the back buttons, the file menu, and everything else. So then the user may not know how to go back and navigate the site. Besides, you still have to worry about the different browsers, because they still don't all work the same. Overall, in my opinion, it's not a good idea. |
