Ok well i'm learning in the PHP and mySQL field. I've got most of what i'm doing but i have one thing i'm confused about so far. When i installed Apache it says in the httpd.conf file that i need to fill in the server name. I use geocities, so does this mean i need to put my websites address in there? or do I put Geocities in there? If you know what i'm talking about please help me. Thanks so much!

you can put in anything. it's just name, you don't need an address of a website or anything. it's just a name, like my name is Joe, and zyconium's is Jake, you can just fill in Holy_Knight's_Server as the name, it makes no difference. my server's name is Squid's_Server (http://squid.sytes.net/scripts/ to see, it's at the bottom) . one thing though, if you've noticed, you can't have spaces. they all have to be connected together whether it be an underscore, or period, but as long as there are no spaces, whatever you put in there is just fine. ![]() |
