php guestbook help! (please!)

Hello!

I use a php MySQL powerd php script. In the mysql_pconnect i put 'localhost' and then my own normal ftp user id and password. i also put my database name in the mysql_select_db.

But this wont work! I just get "Select Failed!" when i launch the guestbook! why is this i dont know, but the php scripts that invloves the select failes goes:


$guests = mysql_query($query) or die("Select Failed!");


can somebody help me with this please?

you sure you have the right PW and username for mysql?

and posting the script, or atleast some more code might let us help you out more.

You probably have an error in your select query.

are you sure your mySQL password is the same as your FTP password? i doubt they are..
