Hi all, need some help over here.!

Hi all.

You see I have been working on this problem for 2 days now, can´t get it work. I want a PHP counter on my page, but don´t know how to do it. I have tested every tutorial and downloaded every PHP counter there is.

But still It dosn´t show the visitors... strange?! Must I install PHP or something. And I know that my server is PHP enable.

Anyone know good PHP, that they have tested or something?

???

Probably you missed the chmoding part. It basically means to give the file permissions. 777 means read, write, execute. You can set these via your FTP program.

If the online server doesn't allow 777, you might want to try 666 which makes it readable and writeable

anyway, yea, what they said is probably what you're doing wrong. try it out and let us know what happend.

Man this thing is weard. I changed it in the ftp prog. But I got a alert popup:


[count.dat]
COMMAND:> SITE CHMOD 666 count.dat
550 count.dat: Permission denied


WHY???? WHHYYYY? ...hehe

maybe the server dosn´t suport 666 or 777 ?

Your host has disabled CHMOD via FTP. Try using SSH (preferred) or Telnet to try and CHMOD the data file. If your still stuck, contact your web host and ask how to CHMOD files.
