birth of a viking

after months of "regular" work (ych) I finnaly managed to finish something I've been working on for a while...
kinda big file:

ok - the little story:

a while ago there was this show on Discovery Channel that I watched with my girl.. and there was a woman giving birth.. live. And the LC got scared and said it's ugly.. I said so what - it's new life coming into being - that's always nice... and from the dispute came my drawing. If you look at it - my nebula kinda looks like a vagina and even has an anus. The red/orange stuff floating inside is supposed to be what's left of the placenta...
Anyway - at first I wanted to make a baby like thinghy instead of a ship - but I had this viking ship sorta looking Apophisys fractal and... yeah.

aside from the "ship" body which was a fortunate error on Apophysis - the rest (even the mast/oars/sail) was made in photoshop.

I want to add some norse looking knotworks for a border and a title (Birth of a viking) and print it on nice paper

thats amazing! nicely done. also the story enhances what the viewer is looking at.

now what's the matter with you guys? cat got your tongue? I know it's been slow but not that slow! post some sugar for me! :P

I'm out of words... it's so massive and it has so many details! And with the story that comes with it, it's even better!
