As you guys (that have the courage to read the photography showcase) might notice, I'm starting to post more and more nightshots. This has both to do with my increased interest in those kind of shots, and the way I have to spent my time photographing. I just don't have enough time during daytime to go out and shoot some photos.

This week I went out on mondaynight and walked around Amsterdam just shooting nice buildings and such.

The first building I walked by is the passenger terminal, this is where cruise ships etc. board.

As I walked towards the central station I passed Nemo, which is like a science museum. The building is really weird, looks a bit like a boat.

There's a highway beneath Nemo, that's where I took this photo:

Next thing I noticed was the victoria hotel, that's in front of the central station of Amsterdam (that I should photograph some time soon too!).

Too bad it was too windy to show a nice reflection of the hotel on the water, but hey... maybe next time.

After this I made my way back home, passing the scheepvaartmuseum. Again a really nice building.

The day after I went down to 'heesselt', a really small town in the south-east of Holland. As I woke up in the morning and looked out of the window, I saw the following beautiful scenery:

The frost makes everything look better as usual.

The last photo I shot on the trainstation, when I made my way back to Amsterdam.

oh, and the links to the websites of the museums both contain english information... for anyone that cares or maybe for you guys that want to visit Amsterdam and need some good tourist info ;)

Nice!

My fav is the highway shot......something bout the lighting is just perfect.

The first scheepvaart museum I just love the colors. Good atmosphere. Reminds me of a castle or something.

I dont think ive ever seen a frosted spider web before. Thats pretty cool. Though I think it could use a little (selective) sharpening or maybe a color adjustment (either a blue tint or a red/yellow to warm it up.)

The trainstation is also very good. Alot of similar "trainstation" shots around, but still very good.

Im guessing your using a tripod? (if so...what kind?)

------------

Also a big shoutout to the boobmaster.

Heya Rodder,

thanks for the comments!
And to answer your question, I didn't have a tripod around...
What I did was to put my camera on the selftimer and than let it rest on something...
If it's not too windy, it works pretty well. I do have a tripod, but I didn't thought about bringing it to my girlfriends place. The one I have is of luxor, it's the cheapest that I could find! It does the job perfectly though...

About the spiderweb, yeah... I thought about editing it a little bit more... but I somehow liked it like this too, it looks really cold right now or something. You're right about the sharpening.

Yes, the highway shot is the best one.. all the diagonal lines make the composition interesting here.
