for my portfolio

I think it looks really cool, I like it a lot. Any chance you made a bigger version? I like the way you used the colors and the background texture. Maybe if you could make the lower left text more readable (maybe a real light vague shadow to seperate it from the dark background). You said you used a photograph, I'm thinking you had to redo the shadow completely, but it looks good. How did you do it? Nice work!

well for the sort of crossing lines on the image I made them on a different layer of the image and used some blending modes maybe screen or overlay. and then i added a 1 pixel border on the edge of the cross sections. i then used gradient from yellow to blue thats how i got that effect. and basically used wind on the arrow.

Brilliant. Just one thing, the colour of the text in the bottom left is too dark, it took me quite a while of eye-bogilling to get what it said!

any suggestions of what colour it shuold be??? maybe a white? or maybe a grey? or maybe a white with low opacity letting the background fade through a little????

I still like my idea I posted earlier. Or you could try a light yellow to balance out that side (with transparency).

about the text colour... maybe hashAAAAAA (no hash key on my Mac keyboard!) or there and abouts would look better. Or even just a lighter blue. Just keep it simple, but there's no point in having text which you can't read! Looks cool . P.S, get rid of bitmaps!!!!
