logo critique needed

does it need a better background, or is there anything else you think i should do to make it a little better? or is it good to go?

first of all, it's not a logo it's a header(I presume it's for the top of site). second, the font is very, ver hard to read and should be changed. 3rd, I hope you have rights to that picture of the gecko, if not you can be sued for copright infringment.

1st off...thank you ever so much for your smartness in the areas of logo vs header, and gee you presumed correctly in your presumption. 2nd...thanks for the only part of your 'critique' that's worth anything. 3rd...the gecko picture is/was for public distribution....and since this is a personal site and not a business site it is perfectly legal.

the topic is "logo critique needed", and it's a header.
The font is pretty unreadable.
The photo of the gecko hasn't got enough contrast.
The composition is pretty boring.
The 45 degree angle on the link bg looks crappy.
The CD or whatever "watermark" only makes it look dirty IMO.
The blue background needs something, it looks boring.

sorry for jumping on your case, dave...i took what you had typed wrong and acted like a jerk. i'll go back to the drawing board and try to fix up this piece of crap....thnx for the input guys.
