Well I just got the "OK" to go and buy a new camera, my parents are going to go in on half and im going to pay for the other half, mostly because they are going to be using it, but I will probably use it more then them :P

Anyways... I was wondering what is a good camera for about $750 USD, maybe a little more, maybe a little less... now I know in the area of digital cameras you get what you pay for im sure, just like most other things, but I dont really know what im looking for as far as what makes one camera better then another. :P Im kindof a noob when it comes to digital cameras :P

I was just wondering what you guys though would be a good camera in that price range... Ive been told that Cannon and Nokia are the best, but I was wondering what you guys recommended.

Any info would be awesome... thanks in advance

I don't think Nokia makes cameras... you're probably thinking of Nikon. Since Cannon and Nikon and maybe Olympus are the best.

For that much money I'd got for either the Nikon Coolpix 5400 5.1MP ($730 @ Newegg) or if you're willing to spend just a wee bit more, then Nikon Coolpix 5700 ($899 @ Newegg). NewEgg link. Scroll down to the bottom.

I've seen photos taken with a 5700 and man, they were amazing. I'll try to find that site again, it was some non proffesional photographer with a 5700.

that's quite a chunk to spend on a camera, personally i'd prob go for something cheaper to start with then move up to a more advanced camera later. it really all depends on what sort of features you want, etc., in that range i'd be looking at a sony f717 and canon g5 as well as the nikon. just do some research, read some reviews and see what sounds good and is highly rated.
