Ok... This will be a pixel art image. No animation. And no anti-aliasing! You are limited to 16 colors. Size your image to 100 pixels high by 200 wide. Your topic is: "Those crazy eighties". And must bring back some sort of memory of the 80s. Break dancing... parachute pants... tight rolled pants, crappy music, fluorescent colors, you get the idea. Text is allowed. You have 48 hours to complete your image from the time this thread is posted. |

There were many great movies that stood out in the 80's (I was in high school). Seeing them again brings back memories of those days. Ghostbusters, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Back to the Future, Rocky, and of course... :D |

Granted, your's is prettier, but it doesn't really speak "80's"....it just speaks "ET" Now mine, mine is the 2 things that MADE the 80's. Transformers, flourescent colors, stupid tag-lines, and of course, who could forget, BIG HAIR: |

oops, i meant mattBOY. I know deker didn't give us permission to vote, but the contestants already posted so I guess it's okay to vote. I really like Malibu's image better, but mattBOY's reminds me of the 80's more. My jr. high science teacher actually told us not to wear flourescent bathing suits to the beach because sharks like the flourescent colors. They taste better, I guess. |

Matt decision final... no reasons... or maybe, Matt's is totally from scratch and Malibu's is based from a photo he saw ... I'm not saying he used a photo... |

mattboy Why? Well, Malibu. Yours is nice, but it could very well be a dithered image with some extra black lines on it. Pixel artwork, from what I've usually seen, doesn't involve trying to make a low color table look like a more detailed photo, its more or less just a devolvement/simplistic look. If Malibu did draw the ET, moon, and bike by hand, I must give him credit for skill, but the contest called for pixel artwork which I really don't consider that pixel art. It just looks like a nicely put together dithered image. Mattboy wins IMO, because he followed the "pixel" theme to a means that I at least consider pixel art. |

Nothing against Dan's ET image... I just feel like Matt's is more "pixel art'y"

Mattboy, Man that brings back memories. For realism and depth, malibu, but there's only one theme... |
