How can the brush palette be constantly displayed without retracting itself?

Ken, It can't. At least as far as Mr. Photoshop knows it can't. I've tried everything I could think of. I think we definitely need this in the next version or an update!!!! Adobe??? The Type Options has a button to open up a separate palette, so why not the paint tools? This is the only solution I see: Become familiar with the shortcuts for cycling through brushes. Here are some: [ = Previous Brush ] = Next Brush Shift + [ = First Brush Shift + ] = Last Brush Luckily for me, I was already using the bracket keys in most cases, so when 6.0 came along I didn't really miss the palette. But I know a retoucher who relied on it so much that the absence of the Brush Palette was one main reason he kept using 5.5 for a long time. I showed him the shortcuts, and he says it really helped, but that he liked being able to see all the brushes at a glance. I agree. I know Adobe was trying to save screen real estate with the Options Bar, but we need that palette back. |
