What is the best way to convert an image to a certain hue? Is converting to monochrome using the Channel Mixer and then using a hue/saturation adjustment layer the best option I have?

Debajit, Yes, indeed that's one way of doing it. Here's a couple of others: 1. This one lets you stay within the Hue/Saturation dialog box the whole time (and gave me better results with the image's contrast): Turn the Saturation all the way down (-100) and then click Colorize. Choose your Hue and Saturation level and you get a nice tinted monochrome. 2. In Photoshop 6.0, create a new Fill Layer (use the black/white circle icon at the bottom of the layers palette) and choose Solid Color (it will use your foreground color or let you pick one). Change the layer's blending mode to Hue. I think you'll like these options better =) |
