ok..ive made the design of my icon in photoshop and now need to transfer it to icon format. Most of the icon programs can import .jpg and .bmp, but none seem to handle transparency that well...any ideas?

Um.... Not sure. I haven't made any icons in ages. But I've used Microangelo and its fine for icons, IMO. I have no clue if it allows for transparency though. As for transparency, BMP and JPG formats dont have any transparency options to their file format specifications. Don't know if you knew that already, but pointing that out in case that's the problem you are having. Though you can probably delete/edit out the unwated pixels in the icon making program(s) you've tried. Well anyway, try Microangelo if you haven't already. Try to import a PNG or GIF file with transparency already on them to see if that works. |
