ok i am trying to make a drop down menu in flash so i have a button and then i have a movie clip right next to it with a blank frame and a frame with 3 buttons. it is stoped at the first frame so you cant see the menu. so heres my logic you put the mouse over and button and the frame in my menu movie clip advances to frame 2 the only problem is im new to mx and its syntax and basic actionscript editor so can someone tell me how to do this?

It is sometimes hard for us to exactly imagine how you are creating something without actually seeing it....
The other thing is with a button you might want to make a MC and a button and then insert the MC into the button on the mousover.

and start looking around google for some introductions to basic actionscipt techniques. If you had a link to what you are trying that would really help.

sorry i didnt have a visual source but i was basically just trying to make a drop down menu and i was having trouble with syntax but i figured it out i had to go back to flash 5 and use its actionscript editor
