Anyone else have this happen? I downloaded the demo version of Flash MX to give it a whirl and at different intervals, it locks up my computer (windows 2000). It locks it up so bad, I have to hit reset. This happen to anybody? This really bums me out, I want to upgrade! |

The problem could be that you're using Windows 2000... Only joking (sorta), Flash MX takes up a lot of memory, make sure you only have some RAM for it to run. |

Lockups can be hard to track down as to who is the offender. Maybe MX, maybe Windows, maybe an overheating CPU, who knows. Have you tried reinstalling anything at this point? Was Flash MX operating fine and then *all the sudden*, or has it been problematic from the get-go? Is Flash MX the only program that exhibits any problems? Computer is *blue screen-free* and *frost-free* otherwise? If so, I'd go for the MX reinstall. But if not, IMO, the best remedy for an ailing system is a fresh core reload of the entire system or a restore from a good known disk image back-up. Personally I use Norton Ghost since reloading and setting up 50+ indivdual programs on a core reload is an all day job. Pain in the ass at first to build and maintain a collection of Ghost files but when you need to restore a corrupt system, 20 minutes is nothing compared to 8 or 10 hours. |
