Need help with Dreamweaver

I sliced up my layout, saved it and opened it in Dreamweaver. Now I'm trying to add a text box. Its in there and it fits, but when I type in it, it flows off to the side over my whole layout. I was wondering how I would be able to lock the sides and be able to type to where it only scrolls up and down.
