i actually used firstpage once. Lost the installer for it and never bothered looking for it again. Im getting Homesite next week. I used the trial for it a couple weeks ago and it simply rocks. As for SSI rendering, thats what I have a linux machine to test all my scripts, pages and stuff with. Its adding in a couple extra steps because I end up having to recreate databases on my internet host, and such, but it helps me work the bugs out of stuff.

Firstpage is topnotch software though. I really like seeing free software with as much stuff as first page comes with.

no, i do not play counter strike. Why? You ask. Well, because every cheat and hack that finds its way into TFC comes from Counter Strike.

Speed hack, wallhacks, health/armor hacks, all started in counter strike. I honestly don't want to play a game that spawns these things. It used to be fun to play CS, but now, It's difficult to find an honest server to play on.

The other reason is because myself and a friend in texas run a TFC/FLF server group out of dallas texas. And The CS Linux server is poorly coded and leaks memory. I have issues with a development team that knows that this bug is there and hasnt taken the time to fix it in 3 patches.

Ehhhmmmmm!!! Guys.... you're digressing a bit......

I've used both Dreamweaver, GoLive and Frontpage, and think that Dreamweaver is best. Sure you could use notepad, but I do not have the time

I play CS and think it is the coolest FPS ever. Most servers nowdays require Punkbuster authentication to play, to prevent players from cheating.

I started with Notepad in the beginning (2 years ago) and I hated WYSIWYG editors, but that was in the past.

Now I have more design knowledge, I prefer to focuse on the design, not on the code, that's why I love Dreamweaver 4! :D

If I need to manually edit code, I prefer Textpad.

For (web) graphics my favorite is Photoshop. (duh, otherwise I wouldn't be on this forum)

HA munti. you are funny. The cheats are still there. doesnt matter what you do, someone will always make cheats for your favorite game.

Anyway, back to the point.

Your design can be the prettiest thing in the world. But what are you going to do when the code you use it to make it so pretty only works for netscape and doesnt show up right in Internet Explorer? or vice versa?

Since you are familiar with Flash5, then Dreamweaver is a good idea. I know you didn't want to hear people say Notepad, so I'm suggesting Dreamweaver.

You'll be familiar with many of the options and so-on and so-forth. I use Dreamweaver, but only because FrontPage screws up my computer. I got it with Office2K, and that's what I learned with, but it just keeps screwing me up.

I have also tried CoffeCup, and that is VERY easy to use. Comes with a LOT of extras too, and that was just the demo version.
