now, i've been thinking of learning illustrator during the summer...so i did a search through the forum and found a question that pank replied to about 'vector can be used by itself' or something of the like. now i've got illustrator 9, and i've never used it much, but i remember i can't seem to save it as anything like a .jpg and i think it's b/c it's not bitmapped or wahtever pixels and stuff. but anyways, does this mean there is no way to use illustrator-made gfx on the web other than acrobat or flash? |

I'm not sure about version 9, but version 10 allows you to export as a JPG or GIF so I would imagine that v. 9 does it as well. You can also export as a PSD file and mess with it in Photoshop with the layers and everything pretty much intact.

Like the4man says, you can use the Save for web, just like in Photoshop. But if you wants to preserve the vectors, then the only options are Flash or .pdf ... maybe .svg in the future? |
