MBB: I know you know this, that's why I ask you directly.

In Flash MX, once I have placed a text label, and entered the text, how do I change it after that?\

Also, when I make a new text label, why do some of my boxes have a dotted line around them, while others have no border at all.

A text field? To edit it, just choose the text tool and click inside it, and change away.

Depends on what the text field is set to. No border, means it's static text, dotted line means it's set to dynamic text, down in the properties.

Thanks much.

You're probably just going to have to give me your cell phone number until I can get this down completely.

haha. Hey I'm still learning MX too.

Is this the first time you've used Flash, or did you ever use 4 or 5?

OK, now when I make an input field, how do I change the size (length to be specific) without affecting the text thats already in there? Right now I made a label, but when I went to expand the size of the box using the "W" variable in the properties, it stretched the text out with it

Yeah, I did use 5 a bit. I didn't really have time to delve into deeply, I just made a few stupid animations with it...nothing expansive.

Ok, with the text field selected (edit mode), there should be a little white box in the bottom right corner. Hold Shift and click it. It should turn black. Release Shift, and you should be able to click and drag the little black square box anywhere you want to resize the field.
