help with an effect in illustrator |

Anyone knwos how to do this effect in Illustrator 9? I tried to follow these instructions but it didn't work. I'm using an Azerty keyboard if that's of any use.

What you're seeing in that tutorial is not the result of using the Blend tool and its functions. If you follow it carefully, you'll get the same results they did. Hold down the "tilde" key (the character looks like this: ~ )while you click and drag out a shape. It will automatically create multiple copies of the shape. The multiple iterations of the shape are laid down at fixed increments of time, so the faster you drag the farther apart they individual shapes will be. |

Well blend tool looks a lot like it if you blend two shapes with only a black stroke. Problem was, the button on my keyboard between esc and TAB isn't the tilde key, it's the key with ² and ³ on it. Tilde is Alt GR and then the = sign, and pressing alt gr went to pen tool. |
