Does anyone know if there is a software similiar to Adobe streamline? for tracing flattened images such as jpegs, clipart to outline which can be re-worked on illustrator. I have used the the tracing tool on illustrator but the outline is not too precise. Thanks! for any suggestions |

I have used streamline, I have used Illustrator, I have used Freehand... With some adjusting you can make a solid trace in any of them. Tracing for a "precise" image will most often take tracing several different time on several different layers at several different settings and going back and deleting the bad portions from each layer then combining all the good portions. This is what Streamline is for, but Illustrator uses basically the same engine to produce its traces. Honestly though, I prefer Freehand (always have) for ALL my vector work. |
