How can I easily stroke a font in Flash MX? This is seriously pissing me off. You can't do jack spit with typography in Flash. They need to pull their heads out of their asses. Right now, I'm placing two layers of text, one bigger behind the original, and it looks like crap. There has got to be a better way. I've searched the help files, searched online, and have found nothing. Where's a Flash guru when you need one?

Hmm, try doing it in Illustrator and just copying it in.

That's exactly what I'm trying to avoid. I'd rather not increase filesize.

that's the only option as far as i know, flash's type options are pretty limited. it really shouldn't increase file size too much, you can export as an swf from illustrator and import that into your library. i'm just praying that adobe's purchase of macromedia will someday result in flash with an illustrator toolset chris |

I posted this same message on about 8 different forums, and I've gotten the same answer every time. Guess I'll just use an image. Thanks fellas.

Slim, maybe you've already checked this forum, as you've stated you've gone to about 8 different forums, but have you tried www.ultrashock.com?

I wouldn't do it that way. I know that you can't stroke a text as text in flash but what you can do is convert the text in flash into a shape and then apply a stroke... Then it wont be a bigger file size... |

Easy...Text...Break text...Erase from end and F6...Reverse the frames...Then you've got handwriting strokes.
