Heres the example..I am going to have a small room. A person is going to be sitting at a computer at the far end. Camera angle is from behind the person. I want to zoom into the computer screen without losing any kind of quality. How can I do this? I am running Flash MX.

if the entire scene is drawn in vector, then you can just increase the scale of everything untill the computer screen fills up the movie area. once again, everything has to be drawn in vector for the quality to stay clean.

Vector? As in all 2D? If thats what vector means then yes it's all vector.

w/ out losing quality.....your kinda out of luck. Plus scaling bitmaps can cause some odd results. Is it possible we could see a picture? ways around it : Take a screen cap of your own screen, scale it down the size of the "zoomed" image. Then across a couple of frames insert smaller versions of the zoomed image (resized in ps..not flash). Remember to add them backwards....meaning smallest pic in the first frame. Its not the best way....but its an option. If your frame rate is greater than 12...then the zoom should look fairly decent/fluid. You might also be able to fake the zoom. Like you see the screen from behind the person...and then with some kinda white/transparent gradient or "flash" you cut to the zoomed in screen. Kinda chessy....but might work if you need a fast zoom. |

I have no pictures yet. It's just all in my head for now. I actually like that idea of making a white flash.
