I just need a quick answer.

I have placed in image in Illustrator (.jpg) and I cannot pull colors off of the image using the eye dropper.

I have tried linking and unlinking the image, seting it as a template, and rasterizing it all with no luck.

I have tried making it a PSD and an EPS and I still cannot pull colors off of it with the eye dropper.

I know I am on the layer with the picture and on the picture itself. The layer is not locked.

What am I doing wrong?

Correct me if im wrong (i dont use illy much).....but I dont think you can. Linking/embeding wont help and rasterizing def. wont help. Illy is straight vector....thats all it understands.

You can't use eyedropper on rasters in Illustrator as far as i know. Just use PS to get the coloour you need and then type the colour code into Illustrator.

And post in the correct section please..us mods dont like people posting in here to get answered faster. Thanks..

Sure ya can...

Try holding down your SHIFT key when making your sample from a raster image in Illustrator. I do this all the time.

Thank you.

Shift works great.

I did it the ghetto way a while back using PS6 to grab the CMYK colors then using manal imput. Got really tiring after about the first 50 colors and my next project will probably have 100-200 different colors... Sooo good thing Shift works.

Sorry, Misc & Misc software threw me off.
