there's a link now aidan, sweet stuff man, your modeling skills are making me jealous, the final model is gorgeous. can you give a bit more info on what tools you used? i don't have max but i've done some playing in wings so the same ideas will work. lightwave's modeler is a bit different, i'm running 6.5 and the modeler doesn't have edge tools so its a bit different to get this sort of workflow. ya know, i'm trying to focus on animating but all this other stuff is so darn fun too chris |

Chris, Heya. I just using Max 5.1..basically a 1*1*1 cube converted to a Polygon object. From there on the ONLY tools i used were Cut, Weld, and Connect. Simply those three. Ill give you the file if you want, i trust you ;) Rodder, it is done with image planes. For copyright reasons i didnt include them in the screengrabs. Ive posted this on other forums and my bandwidth is soaring..i wouldn't want Weta on my doorstep now would i?! Basically the image planes are early models (plasticine) of gollum but i just used those at the start...from around the end of page 2 onward I just created him as i liked. |

Give me time damnit!! This project has a deadline..you're lucky i even bothered with progress pages cos its unneeded, but so many people were asking questions. This forum looks funny...do you have a new feature list or something so we can make the best out of this? Sticky in the Misc perhaps? The full blown tut will be up asap, im texturing him at the mo |

All right, I guess I'll be patient ;) Not sure if there is a list of all the new features floating around. I'll have to check... |
