HOw to make the mean vines

Does anyone know or have any idea how to make the vines like on Endopod.com or is it like panks metal that dont wanna let out the secret.

i can give you a hint...

1- first open a new image. make the background color like white or something

2-then use the rectangle marquee tool to draw a box. make it kinda thin.

3-Fill the selection with a light grey color.

4-Keep the selection and make a new layer underneath the greyish layer. Fill this selection with black. Deselect.

5-Select your greyish layer and go to Filter>>Blur>>gaussian. Play with the settings.

6- Create a layer on top of all the others and fill it with the color you want your vines to have. Change the layer mode to color.

7-Merge the greyish layer and the black layer down and go filter>>distort>>wave. Play with the settings here.

8-Edit>>Transform>> and play with that menu some until you get a pointy vine.

9-Add texture to it. Check out the tutorials here for texturing/etc.

I think someone posted a tutorial on this, and those steps kinda resemble the ones I have here. But I added in what I played with, which is a little more than the tutorial did.
